Anyone can take part. Well. Actually. That’s not strictly true.
You must be at least 18 years old to be a Stretcher Bearer, and all Patients need to be at least 10 years old. And brave. Very brave.
All 4 Stretcher Bearers will need to take in a beer at the stops, and the Patient holds the responsibility for making sure that the teams race card gets marked off at each stop. No stamp from the race officials and you’ll be sent around the course a second time. Not something that even the Gurkas were prepared to do.
Fancy Dress is optional. Though to be honest if you’re the type of lunatic that would enter this race, you’re hardly going to be the type to miss an opportunity to dress up like Spiderman or Wonder Woman and bask in the bewilderment of the rest of Beaconsfield for the rest of the day.
